Make these simple, no-bake sugar cookie truffles that taste like classic sugar cookies. They use crushed cookies and cream cheese, coated in white chocolate, perfect for holidays or gifting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups finely crushed sugar cookies (about 1 standard package of store-bought cookies)
  • 12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers or chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening (optional, for smoother melting)
  • 1/4 cup festive sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese and vanilla extract in a medium bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
  2. Add the crushed sugar cookies to the cream cheese mixture. Mix on low speed until fully combined and a dough forms. If the mixture is too soft, chill it for 15 minutes.
  3. Roll the dough into small, uniform balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Chill the cookie balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm them up. This step is important for easy dipping.
  5. Melt the white chocolate wafers according to package directions. If using shortening, stir it into the melted chocolate for a thinner consistency.
  6. Dip each chilled truffle into the melted white chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip off. You can use a fork or a dipping tool.
  7. Immediately place the dipped truffle back onto the parchment-lined sheet.
  8. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the tops with festive sprinkles.
  9. Allow the truffles to set completely at room temperature, or speed up the process by chilling them again for about 15 minutes.

Notes

  • You can use leftover homemade sugar cookies or store-bought plain sugar cookies for the crumbs.
  • For a different look, use milk chocolate or dark chocolate for the coating.
  • Store finished truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • These are excellent make ahead holiday treats that freeze well for up to three months.
