Ingredients
Scale
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries, pureed
1/2 cup powdered sugar (for swirl)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter and granulated sugar together until combined.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder and flour. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing only until just combined. Do not overmix to keep the brownies fudgy.
Spread half of the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Gently spread the strawberry puree over the batter layer.
Dollop the remaining brownie batter over the strawberry layer. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the layers together, creating a marbled effect.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. A toothpick inserted near the edge should come out with moist crumbs attached, not wet batter.
Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Once cool, whisk the powdered sugar with 1-2 teaspoons of water or milk to create a thin glaze. Drizzle this glaze over the cooled brownies.
Cut into squares and serve your homemade strawberry treats.
Notes
For an extra decadent chocolate dessert, fold 1/2 cup of chocolate chips into the batter before spreading.
If using frozen strawberries, thaw them first and drain off any excess liquid before pureeing.
To achieve a chewy brownie texture, avoid overbaking. The center should still look slightly soft when you remove the pan from the oven.
