Make 24 easy ham and cheese sliders using Hawaiian rolls for a perfect, quick assembly party food crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (12 count) sweet Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 pound thinly sliced deli ham
  • 1 pound thinly sliced Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced onion

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Keep the Hawaiian rolls connected in their original packaging or slice the entire block of rolls horizontally, creating a top half and a bottom half. Place the bottom half of the rolls into the prepared baking dish.
  3. Layer all the sliced ham evenly over the bottom layer of rolls.
  4. Layer all the sliced Swiss cheese evenly over the ham.
  5. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese layer.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, Worcestershire sauce, and dried minced onion until combined. This is your buttery glaze.
  7. Spoon or brush the buttery glaze mixture evenly over the top of the rolls.
  8. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  9. Bake for 15 minutes covered.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the tops are lightly golden brown.
  11. Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before slicing them apart along the natural divisions between the rolls. Serve these pull apart sandwiches warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a thin layer of mayonnaise mixed with a dash of garlic powder to the bottom layer of rolls before adding the ham.
  • If you are making these for a large graduation open house, you can assemble the sliders up to 4 hours ahead of time, keep them covered in the refrigerator, and add about 10 minutes to the covered baking time.
