Ingredients
Scale
1 cup filtered water
12 edible pansies or violets (ensure they are food-grade and pesticide-free)
Ice cube tray
Instructions
Prepare your flowers by gently rinsing them if necessary. Allow them to dry completely.
Fill each compartment of your ice cube tray about halfway with filtered water.
Gently place one edible flower into each compartment, positioning it so it is mostly submerged.
Carefully top off each compartment with the remaining water, ensuring the flower stays in place.
Place the tray in the freezer and freeze until solid, about 4 to 6 hours.
To serve, briefly run the bottom of the tray under warm water to release the floral ice cubes.
Add the aesthetic ice cubes to your beverage for an instant garden party detail.
Notes
Use distilled or filtered water for the clearest ice cubes. Boiling the water first and letting it cool can also help reduce cloudiness.
Make these ahead of time for Mother’s Day drinks or fancy cocktail garnish.
These cubes work well in sparkling lemonade or champagne cocktails.
