Make a rich, velvety chocolate dip using your slow cooker. This easy chocolate fondue recipe is perfect for parties or romantic evenings, served with your favorite dippers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips (high-quality chocolate recommended)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare your dippers first. Arrange fruits, marshmallows, pretzels, pound cake cubes, and cookies on a large platter or board to create your fondue board setup.
  2. Place the chocolate chips into the basin of a small slow cooker or crockpot.
  3. Pour the heavy cream over the chocolate chips.
  4. Set the slow cooker to LOW. Allow the chocolate and cream to sit undisturbed for 15 minutes to begin melting.
  5. After 15 minutes, stir the mixture gently until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract and the pinch of salt.
  7. Keep the slow cooker on the WARM setting for serving. Stir occasionally to maintain a smooth consistency.
  8. Serve immediately with your prepared dippers.

Notes

  • For the best texture, use good quality chocolate, such as Ghirardelli or Callebaut, for a truly decadent dip.
  • If you do not have a slow cooker, you can melt the chocolate and cream together in a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each interval.
  • To keep the fondue warm without a pot, transfer it to a small, preheated ceramic bowl set inside a larger bowl filled with hot water.
