Make this satisfying, one-pot creamy beef pasta for a quick weeknight dinner. This recipe uses ground beef and a rich garlic butter sauce, delivering comfort food flavor with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces dried pasta (like penne or rotini)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the ground beef in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Cook the beef, breaking it apart, until it is fully browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Stir the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder into the cooked beef. Cook for one minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour the beef broth into the pot with the beef. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Add the dried pasta to the boiling broth mixture. Stir well to prevent sticking. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the pot, and simmer according to the pasta package directions, usually about 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and butter until the butter melts and the sauce becomes smooth.
  6. Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is velvety and coats the pasta.
  7. Serve the creamy beef pasta immediately. Garnish each serving with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a high protein creamy pasta, use lean ground beef.
  • You can substitute fettuccine or bowtie pasta for the shapes listed above.
  • If the sauce is too thick after adding the cream, add a splash of milk or extra broth to reach your desired consistency.
