Make this bright red holiday margarita for a beautiful, photo-ready drink. You can shake individual cocktails or mix a large batch for parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz Tequila Blanco
  • 1 oz Orange Liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 2 oz Cranberry Juice (100% juice preferred)
  • 1 oz Pomegranate Juice
  • Optional: Coarse salt or sugar for rim
  • Garnish: Fresh cranberries, pomegranate arils, rosemary sprigs

Instructions

  1. Prepare the rim if desired: Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your serving glass. Dip the rim into a shallow plate of salt or sugar.
  2. Combine the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, cranberry juice, and pomegranate juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  3. Shake well until the shaker is very cold, about 15 to 20 seconds.
  4. Strain the mixture into your prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
  5. Garnish with fresh cranberries, pomegranate arils, and a rosemary sprig for a festive look.

Notes

  • For a make-ahead pitcher: Multiply all liquid ingredients by the number of servings you need. Mix all ingredients (except ice) in a pitcher and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. When ready to serve, shake or stir individual portions with ice and strain into glasses.
  • To make a mocktail: Substitute the tequila and orange liqueur with equal parts sparkling water or non-alcoholic spirit alternative, and increase the cranberry and pomegranate juices slightly to maintain flavor balance.
