Ingredients
Scale
12 frozen breaded chicken tenders
12 slider buns (Hawaiian rolls recommended)
1 cup marinara sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
4 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Arrange the frozen chicken tenders in a single layer on a sheet pan.
Bake the chicken tenders according to package directions until they are cooked through and crispy.
While the chicken cooks, slice the slider buns horizontally, keeping the top and bottom halves connected if possible.
Place the bottom halves of the buns in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Top each bottom bun half with one cooked chicken tender.
Spoon about 1 tablespoon of marinara sauce over each chicken tender.
Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce and chicken. Place the top halves of the buns back on.
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Brush this mixture evenly over the tops of the assembled sliders.
Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil. Bake for 10 minutes.
Remove the foil and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the tops. Bake uncovered for another 5 to 7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Slice the pull apart sliders apart and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can brush the inside of the top buns with a thin layer of pesto before assembling.
If you prefer a crispier top, broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
This recipe works well as a sheet pan appetizer for easy serving at your graduation party.
