Make the classic, crunchy, savory Chex Party Mix using this reliable oven-baked recipe. This simple crowd-pleasing snack is perfect for game days or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 6 cups Corn Chex cereal
  • 3 cups Wheat Chex cereal
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (pecans, almonds, or peanuts)
  • 1 cup pretzel twists or sticks
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees F. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a very large bowl, combine the Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Wheat Chex, nuts, and pretzels. Set aside.
  3. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Remove from heat and stir in the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, seasoned salt, and paprika until well combined.
  4. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the cereal and mix combination. Gently toss until all pieces are lightly coated.
  5. Spread the mixture in a single layer onto the prepared baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, stir well, and return to the oven for another 15 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the snack mix cool completely on the baking sheets. The mix will crisp up as it cools.
  8. Store the crunchy snack mix in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

  • For maximum crunch, do not skip the cooling time on the baking sheets before storing.
  • You can substitute any combination of Chex cereals you prefer, but aim for a total of 15 cups of cereal mixture.
  • For a Ranch Chex Mix Variation, omit the Worcestershire sauce and spices, and instead toss the coated cereal with 1 packet of dry ranch seasoning mix after baking and cooling slightly.
