Learn the simple, reliable method for cooking perfectly crispy bacon every time using your air fryer, minimizing mess and maximizing flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound bacon (standard or thick cut)

Instructions

  1. Arrange the bacon strips in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Do not overlap the strips; work in batches if necessary to maintain a single layer.
  2. Place the basket into the air fryer unit.
  3. Set the air fryer temperature to 380 degrees Fahrenheit. This is the best air fryer bacon temperature for even cooking.
  4. Cook for 8 to 12 minutes. Cooking time depends on the thickness of your bacon and your desired crispiness level.
  5. Check the bacon at the 8-minute mark. If the bacon is flying up, gently press it down with tongs or place a small, air-fryer-safe metal rack on top to keep it flat.
  6. Continue cooking in 1 to 2-minute increments until the bacon reaches your preferred crispness.
  7. Carefully remove the cooked bacon strips using tongs and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
  8. Pour the rendered grease from the air fryer basket into a heat-safe container for disposal. Do not pour grease down the drain.

Notes

  • For thick cut bacon in air fryer, start checking closer to 10 minutes.
  • If you notice smoke, reduce the temperature slightly to 370 degrees Fahrenheit. This smokeless air fryer bacon method works well for leaner cuts.
  • Use the bacon drippings to cook eggs or sauté vegetables for added flavor.
  • This method is the fastest way to cook bacon compared to oven baking.
